If Haymitch told Katniss about the plan to escape The Hunger Games before hand do you think it would have been more successful? Why or why not?

  1. I don't think it would have helped their situation for the rebellion because it would have psyched Katniss out. President Snow's visit already scared her, and the idea of trying to take him down would weaken her drive in the arena. District 13 couldn't risk having Katniss die, because she is the Mockingjay (Leader of the Rebellion) and they need her to overthrow the Capitol.

  2. It's entirely possible that if somebody told her in advance she would let something slip as it shows she rarely thinks before she speaks. Or she'd want to talk about it constantly to iron out the kinks when she started getting nervous, but there is no such thing as privacy in the Arena. Keeping her in the dark allowed her to be natural and work towards the goal of survival (since some of the tributes didn't wish to play nice) instead of freaking out over all these things that other people had already managed to figure out. Not splitting her attention ended up working in their favour.

  3. I think that the plan wouldn't have worked out as well if Katniss knew in advance, because Haymitch has kept secrets during the first Hunger Games and it worked out for the better. Katniss would have not realized the importance of the plan, and how long it has been going on for. She also would have acted differently with the other tributes, knowing theres a plan in motion.
