It's not a horrible change for Katniss. She knows how to swim which is one of the main challenges for the tributes dunked in the ocean, and though it is jungle it's still a forest, which enables her to hunt with relative finesse. Finnick is right at home - District Four whence he comes is a fishing District, and the children there learn how to swim before they can walk. He is able to be an important source of food as he is the only one that truly knows how to fish. Peeta doesn't fare as well as they do, but like Johanna, is somewhat capable of holding his own compared to the first Games, where he pretty much leaned on others almost the whole time.
